This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to protect children, youth, and adults from online risks when using the Internet. Participants learn how to safely access the web by using common Internet tools such as browsers, email, and instant messaging. Participants learn skills to protect their family from online risks including cyber – bullying, online harassment, exposure to inappropriate materials, and phishing. Popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter and SnapChat are explored. Resources to help keep children and youth safe are explained including how to discuss Internet safety with family members.
