Separation and Loss

This course addresses the separation and loss issues that children and youth in placement inevitably experience. The separation and loss issues of the birth family and resource family are also examined. The focus is on attachment, the grieving process, and the behavioral indicators of stress. Participants will learn strategies to assist children in care to recognize their grief and learn effective strategies to address it.
