Human Trafficking: What Caregivers Need to Know

02/01 - 02/28

Children and youth in foster care are at higher risk (vulnerable) of human trafficking, particularly if they have been personally exposed to violence or sexual abuse (risk factors).?It is very important for foster/adoptive parents, relative caregivers and residential staff to be aware of the problem of human trafficking, and to understand the signs and behaviors a child or youth may exhibit when they have been a victim. In this course participants will explore human trafficking with a focus on sex trafficking and labor trafficking. Participants will learn strategies for identifying a child or youth at risk of trafficking and/or indications that a child or youth has been a victim of trafficking.?
